After School Tutor

Overview

St. Mark’s Episcopal School is looking for enthusiastic After School Tutors to join our team. In this role, you will provide academic support to students in 5th through 8th grade in small group or one-on-one settings. Our goal is to help students build confidence, master core subjects, and develop effective study habits.

Pay Rate: $30 - $35/hr

• Assist students with homework assignments, projects, and test preparation in subjects such as Math, Language Arts, Science, etc.
• Identify learning gaps and create supplemental activities to strengthen foundational skills.
• Maintain brief notes on students' progress.
• Serve as a positive role model, encouraging a “growth mindset” and academic resilience.
• Ensure a focused and productive learning environment.

• 18+ years old.
• 2 years of college in core subject.
• Experience tutoring with children.
• Education background preferred.

• Works in a sometimes stressful environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges.
• Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
• Physical agility to lift up to 50 pounds; to bend, stoop, and reach overhead.
• Work primarily in a traditional climate-controlled classroom environment.
• Work intermittently in outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
