Position Summary / Job Goals:

To deliver high-quality Physics instruction that sets ambitious expectations and supports all learners in achieving strong academic outcomes. To create a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment that promotes intellectual curiosity, scientific reasoning, problem-solving, and mastery of Physics concepts and skills.

Qualifications / Training:
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Physics or a closely related field
  • Valid teaching certification or equivalent professional training
  • Strong pedagogical understanding of Physics instruction, assessment, and differentiation
  • Commitment to ongoing professional learning and development
Experience / Knowledge:
  • Demonstrates strong subject‑matter expertise in Physics and effective instructional practices
  • Designs coherent sequences of lessons that deepen conceptual understanding and build analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Uses formative and summative assessment to guide instruction, diagnose learning needs, and provide timely, actionable feedback
  • Understands adolescent development and adapts instruction to meet diverse abilities, backgrounds, interests, and learning needs
  • Establishes and maintains high expectations for student progress, behaviour, and classroom culture
  • International Baccalaureate (IB) and/or Advanced Placement (AP) experience preferred

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Set ambitious expectations for all students and take responsibility for their academic progress in Physics
  • Plan and deliver engaging, well‑structured lessons that promote deep understanding, scientific inquiry, and higher‑order thinking
  • Create and maintain a safe, respectful, and stimulating classroom environment grounded in high standards of behaviour and mutual respect
  • Use assessment data to monitor learning, adjust instruction, differentiate support, and provide meaningful feedback
  • Communicate regularly and professionally with parents and colleagues regarding student progress, achievement, and wellbeing
  • Participate actively in professional learning, reflect on instructional practice, and implement strategies to improve student outcomes
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities, school events, and wider Nord Anglia Education initiatives
  • Uphold safeguarding, inclusion, and the school’s values in all professional interactions
