Science Teachers - SST Houston North Campuses (Spring Area)
Location:
Houston, TX
Base pay range: $62,000.00/yr - $84,000.00/yr

Full-Time, Exempt, 193 work days
- Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the subject area(s) assigned to help students fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.
- Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
- Prepare lessons with accommodations for individual differences and maintain accurate records as required by law and policy.
- Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior and guide learning toward curriculum goals.
- Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and media, and implement the district’s philosophy and instructional goals.
- Assess student progress and provide regular feedback; refer students for evaluation as needed.
- Maintain professional relationships and open communication with students, parents, and community members.
- Plan and supervise assignments for teacher aides and volunteers; participate in district and campus staff development; attend staff meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Meet Texas “highly qualified” standards.
- Texas Teacher Certificate appropriate for level and subject area of assignment (required for ESL/Bilingual, SPED, Pre-K; preferred for other subjects).
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
- Effective written and oral communication with all levels of management and stakeholders.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships inside and outside the district.
- Proficiency with computers, district software, and standard office tools.
- Use of effective interview techniques, public speaking, and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements
- Light work; occasional lifting may be required.
- Nights and weekend activities may be occasionally required.
- Office setting with potential desk work; moderate travel may be required.
