Job Description:

The role involves teaching Spanish courses, preparing engaging lessons, and supporting student learning. Responsibilities include teaching, course development, student advising, grading, attending meetings, and performing related duties.

Essential Job Functions:

• Teach Spanish courses at a variety of times and locations
• Create engaging lessons that promote student involvement
• Submit required college reports and forms in a timely manner
• Use a course syllabus following institutional guidelines
• Meet with and advise students either before or after class, by appointment, electronic communication, or other appropriate methods
• Evaluate students to measure progress and inform them in a timely manner
• Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community
• Attend meetings, trainings, and orientations as required
• Perform other reasonable related duties as assigned

Physical Abilities: Sedentary work, occasional walking, standing, bending, and carrying light items such as papers or books.

Work Schedule and

Conditions:

• Use a PC workstation, calculator, phone, and other general office equipment
• Interface with internal and external contacts as needed
• Work in a climate‑controlled classroom or lab environment with minimal exposure to safety hazards
• Hours vary by class schedule; instructors must be available to students outside of class instruction

Required Qualifications: Master’s degree in Spanish or related discipline (or 18 graduate hours in the discipline).

Salary: $55.44 per contact hour.
