Job Description

Position Summary: The PT Trainer, Upward Bound provides training to high school students for the Upward Bound program.

Note: This is a temporary, grant-funded position. Continuation of the position from one academic year to the next is dependent upon continued grant funding.

Essential Job Functions
  • Provides training to high school students for Upward Bound program to prepare students for the upcoming academic year
  • Develops training materials for assigned areas
  • Takes attendance; maintains records of assignments and grades for all students
  • Creates an interactive learning environment
  • Provides training for standardized testing
  • Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of the Upward Bound Program or TRIO programs
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of the Internet, knowledge of common office software including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Good organizational skills
Physical Abilities

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

Work Schedule and Conditions
  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards
Required Qualifications
  • Associate s degree or higher and at least 1 year of experience in secondary education or field of expertise
Salary

Hourly Pay Rate is $27.14
