We are seeking a Corporate Trainer who will advance the institution’s tradition of excellence in academics, student life and community service.
The OpportunityYou’re an innovative instructor who’s comfortable in classroom or corporate settings. HCC’s Corporate College provides customized business/industry instruction with on-site workforce training. Classes can be scheduled during the day, at night or on weekends; at the client’s worksite, online or at one of our facilities.
Your missionProvide soft-skills training to corporate clients on an on-call basis, particularly in leadership, management and supervisory skills, diversity and other human resource issues.
Your workAssess the client’s training needs with Corporate College staff. Based on information, develop and deliver training in one- to three-day classroom formats using texts, handouts, class exercises and/or assessment tools. Update and revise course content and teaching methodology to maintain relevancy.

SummaryProvide soft skills training to corporate clients on an on-call basis, particularly in leadership, management, supervisory, customer service skills, diversity and other HR issues. Deliver training based on client’s needs and objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Provide training and/or consulting to corporate clients as needed.
- Assess training needs for clients in conjunction with Corporate College staff.
- Customize training content and format to fit client’s objectives.
- Provide instruction in soft skills: leadership, supervisory skills, diversity, HR issues, etc.
- Deliver training in 1–3 day classroom formats using materials such as texts, handouts, class exercises or assessment tools.
- Update and revise course content and teaching methodology to maintain currency.
- Maintain familiarity with current texts, materials, aids and techniques; recommend adoption when appropriate.
- Actively seek ways to improve instruction.
- Attend scheduled meetings with client and Corporate College as requested, including Adjunct Faculty Orientation.
- Maintain accurate records including class schedules, student rosters, attendance and grade rosters. Strict observance for ongoing consideration for other training assignments.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a specialized area. Level 1 certifications in courses (Leadership, Customer Service, etc.) preferred. Non-certified candidates must be willing to be trained/certified upon employment.
Experience:
Community college, university teaching, or corporate training experience is highly desired. Level 1 – minimum three years of demonstrated corporate training/subject-related experience required. Up to 3 years of experience at HCC in corporate training preferred. Industry training, community college or university teaching experience is highly desired.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of management, HR, curriculum development; ability to encourage critical thinking; knowledge of learning theory; leadership theories; current developments in related fields; ability to use current technology; ability to present innovative ideas; strong communication; ability to meet deadlines; ability to customize content; produce professional handouts and presentations; excellent presentation and interpersonal skills; comfortable training in a corporate environment; professional interaction with clients.
