Teacher Assistant/ Paraprofessional, Special Education Teacher
The District-Wide Instructional Coach plays a critical role in enhancing instructional practices by providing real-time coaching, modeling effective teaching strategies, and facilitating professional learning. The District-Wide Instructional Coach collaborates with teachers, campus leadership teams, and district administrators to drive instructional excellence, ensure alignment to state standards, and improve student achievement.
QualificationsEducation/Certification
- A bachelor s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Texas Teacher Certification appropriate for level and/or subject area of assignment
Special Knowledge/
Skills:
- Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation
- Ability to interpret data and evaluate instruction programs and teaching effectiveness
- Ability to develop and deliver training to adult learners
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience at the K-12 level.
Duties & Responsibilities
Instructional Strategies
- Work collaboratively with assigned classroom teachers to establish measurable objectives related to both the teacher s individual professional development and student learning.
- Support the continuous professional growth and improvement of teacher instructional skills through coaching and collaborative problem solving.
- Observe classroom instruction and provide real-time feedback and coaching to classroom teachers to facilitate improvement and innovation. Demonstrate teaching strategies with students in classroom.
- Guide teachers in internalizing lessons using HQMIs to improve instructional delivery and student engagement.
- Evaluate teacher effectiveness in accordance with established district programs.
- Plan and provide appropriate staff development for teachers, administrators, and staff.
- Facilitate professional learning communities (PLCs) and targeted professional development sessions.
Instructional and Program Management
- Collaborate with the Director of Special Projects and Academics department to build strong vertical alignment across the content team that leads to college-readiness.
- Collaborate with district administrators, principals, and teachers to analyze and interpret student data and use findings to develop and apply instructional strategies.
- Vet, develop, and recommend instructional resources aligned with district priorities and state standards.
- Support the implementation of STAAR-aligned assessments and classroom interventions.
- Disseminate information regarding current research and significant developments on the state and national levels in area assigned.
Other
Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.
Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy.
Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
