Lone Star College-University Park

Lone Star College offers high-quality, low-cost academic transfer and career training education to 80,000+ students each semester. LSC has been named a 2023 Great Colleges to Work For institution by the Chronicle of Higher Education. LSC consists of eight colleges, seven centers, eight Workforce Centers of Excellence and Lone Star Corporate College.

Established in 2012, Lone Star College-University Park has been recognized nationally and internationally for its innovation and focus on student access and success. Located off SH 249 in northwest Houston, it is known as the  community's college,  providing affordable degree and certificate programs that transfer to four-year universities or lead to direct employment. Campus facilities include the Center for Science & Innovation, the Energy & Manufacturing Institute, Learning Innovation Labs and the Geology Rock Wall.

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The teaching faculty provide learning activities and support to achieve course objectives and contribute to the educational environment of the college and community. Primary responsibilities include planning, developing, and teaching courses within the curriculum to facilitate student learning.

Adjunct faculty are hired in a part-time capacity on a semester-by-semester basis, contingent upon the System’s needs. Lone Star College accepts applications year-round from qualified applicants willing to teach part-time. Adjunct hiring is based on student demand. We offer day, evening, and weekend classes at various times and locations. A typical adjunct may teach a maximum of five classes per academic year.
