The Student Support Services Department at the British International School of Houston is seeking to appoint a well qualified and experienced English as an Additional Language Teacher to join our team includes Learning Support and Counselling Services. This is a large, whole school department, led by the Head of Student Support Services. The English as an Additional Language Team work across the school, supporting students who are at various stages in their English language acquisition.

Support ranges from an intensive level for students who are new to English, to a lower level for those students who are ready to graduate from the EAL programme

The role of Teacher for English as an Additional Language involves:

• Working closely with the Admissions and Education teams
• Assessing students’ levels of English
• Correct placement of students within the programme
• Teaching students within the programme
• Communication with parents
• Support for colleagues and collaboration with the other members of the EAL Team.
