Dec 15, 2025. We are seeking an Instructor Commercial Truck Driving who will advance the institution’s tradition of excellence in academics, student life and community service. This role supports the college curriculum and programs, teaches using a variety of effective methodologies, and provides engagement and support activities that encourage student learning. The instructional faculty role encompasses teaching and learning, academic advising, professional development, and institutional and community service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Teaching: Demonstrate skill and knowledge in the teaching discipline. Strive to improve instruction by reviewing and employing innovative methodologies, techniques, and delivery methods. Develop and use a syllabus for each course or laboratory within college guidelines and submit a copy to the department chair. Plan, develop, and use varied teaching methods and materials to meet course objectives for students with differing backgrounds and learning styles.
Evaluate students’ progress and communicate results in a timely manner. Maintain accurate student records and submit related reports within requested timelines. Teach courses at a variety of times and locations in response to institutional needs. Demonstrate competence and interest in using technology in the classroom and willingness to explore new instructional methodologies. - Academic Advising: Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community. Provide access to students through electronic communication and other appropriate methods. Offer advice and assistance regarding instructional or program-specific issues.
- Professional Development: Establish annual objectives for professional growth. Stay current with developments in the discipline. Learn and apply technologies that support student learning. Participate in the evaluation process for self, department, and college.
- Institutional and Community Service: Participate in scheduled institutional service activities including opening week events, conference days, and commencement exercises. Participate in discipline committee or program meetings and activities. Actively participate in department/college/system meetings and/or committees. Adhere to all policies and procedures of the college. Engage in college-related activities such as student activities, recruitment, community education, and special programs. Support activities that foster goodwill and promote the college’s mission.
Help maintain program and college accreditation standards. Assist in articulating courses and programs with secondary and post-secondary institutions.
- Education: High School or GED required. Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.
- Experience: 36 months of work experience in the field required.
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to work in a diverse environment; willingness to teach day, evening, or weekend classes at multiple sites; strong computer literacy; excellent interpersonal and communication skills with diverse populations; good organizational and planning abilities; sensitivity to students with diverse backgrounds and disabilities; demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate students; self-discipline and ability to manage others.
