Dance Teacher – High School 2026‑2027 (Anticipated Vacancies)
Spring Branch Independent School District invites applications for a secondary classroom teacher specializing in dance for the 2026‑2027 academic year.
Primary PurposeDesign, implement, and assess dance instruction that cultivates student motor skills, artistic expression, and confidence in a safe, inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities- Plan and deliver dance lessons that align with district curriculum and the Texas Education Agency specifications.
- Assess student skill development and modify instruction for diverse learning styles, including special education needs per Individual Education Plan requirements.
- Integrate technology to enrich choreography, movement sequencing, and performance evaluations.
- Model exemplary behavior, maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning, and manage student conduct in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.
- Communicate progress with parents, students, and staff through conferences, written reports, and collaborative planning sessions.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development activities, and extracurricular dance events approved by the campus principal.
- Bachelor’s degree in Dance, Physical Education, or a related field.
- Valid Texas Teacher Certificate in Secondary Dance or an out‑of‑state certification appropriate for the position.
- Pass Content Examination and Science of Teaching Reading Examination if required.
- Proficiency in the effective use of technology for instruction and assessment.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
