Job Description

As Dean of Academic Progress you will assist the School Leader and the Leadership Team with the administration of systems related to high‑school matriculation and graduation. You आईपी will support a culture that empowers students to develop the knowledge, skills, and character needed for a successful college education and a life of value, joy, and integrity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with registration, enrollment, withdrawal, and transfer of students and UIF processing of all student‑related records.
  • Verify the accuracy and completeness of all student registration packets, determining eligibility for enrollment.
  • Enter campus student information into the district student information system.
  • Communicate daily with campus administrators and program coordinators to identify and correct missing or incorrect information in physical and electronic student data files.
  • Maintain all digital course records and provide teacher/administrative access to the online gradebook.
  • Process and transmit requests for student information, including verification of enrollment and transcripts for colleges and universities.
  • Coordinate state, district, and local testing as directed.
  • Develop and maintain coherent, state‑compliant transcripts that prepare students for college and career.
  • Develop and implement structures for clear‑graduation planning (Personal Graduation Plan) that includes electives, enrichment, credit‑recovery courses, and Advanced Placement courses.
  • Monitor overall academic progress for all students; follow‐up with students failing one or more courses in the first four semesters of high school.
  • Coordinate teacher and advisor responsibilities to drive student academic progress through goal‑setting and intrinsic motivation.
  • Intervene with support when students face challenges with attendance, academics, or discipline.
  • Maintain and monitor academic compliance in Special Education, 504, LPAC, and at‑risk student areas.
  • Coordinate verification and correction of grades, and print and distribute report cards.
  • Assist School Leader and Assistant Principals with campus and student scheduling; maintain student transcripts; ensure transfer grades and GPAs are calculated correctly.
  • Host parent events (workshops, conferences, open houses) to support academic transitions to college and keep parents informed of benefits of a KIPP high school.
  • Support leadership with building a student culture of achievement through investment, rewards, and faculty recognition programs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree, required.
  • At least two years’ experience as a lead teacher/teacher of record educator in middle or high school classrooms.
  • Experience helping students and families navigate college admission, financial aid, and scholarship procedures.
  • Experience developing relationships with key college‑access and success organizations.
  • Demonstrated strong achievement results and documented growth.
  • Demonstrated leadership with the ability to drive results through others.
  • Strong prioritization, organization, and follow‑up skills; ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, conflict management, and human‑relations skills.
  • Excellent planning, goal‑setting, coordinating, problem‑analysis, and decision‑making skills.
  • Ability to facilitate and lead change initiatives and embrace innovation.
  • Enthusiasm to engage parents and community.
