• Location: LSC-CyFair, Cypress, TX
• Employment Type: Part‑time
• Schedule: Day, evening, and weekend classes
• Class Limit: Maximum of five classes per academic year
• Salary: $55.44 per contact hour

Teaching faculty provide learning activities and support that achieve course objectives and contribute to the educational environment of the college and community. Primary responsibilities include planning, developing and teaching courses within the curriculum in a manner that facilitates student learning.

• Teach courses in the Certified Personal Trainer Program under Continuing Education
• Assist in development and maintenance of the curriculum and program growth
• Comply with ACE requirements and provide exam support to candidates
• Teach courses at a variety of times and locations
• Submit timely required college reports and forms
• Develop and utilize a course syllabus for each course following institutional guidelines
• Advise students in academic matters
• Provide timely, quality access to students through posted office hours, electronic communication and other appropriate methods
• Evaluate students by a variety of means to measure progress in achieving course objectives and inform them in a timely manner
• Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community
• Perform other reasonable duties as assigned

• Mastery of course content
• Demonstrated leadership skills emphasizing collaboration, teamwork and facilitation
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to appreciate alternative viewpoints and work effectively with a wide variety of people
• Interest in interdisciplinary teaching, service learning, learning technologies, course development and adult learning methodologies including collaborative learning, learning communities and distance learning
• Commitment to academic excellence, exceptional service and a dynamic climate for life‑long learning
• Ability to develop and implement instructional approaches such as service learning/civic engagement, learning communities, and effective use of technology
• Strategies to engage students in their learning

• PFit, ACE or NASM Certified Personal Trainer
• At least 3 years of related work experience in the field
