The teaching faculty member designs and delivers learning activities that achieve course objectives, enhances the educational environment, and serves the college and community.
Essential Job Functions- Teach courses in English at varying times and locations.
- Continuously improve instruction using innovative methods and technologies.
- Develop syllabi and learning materials in alignment with college and departmental standards.
- Use diverse teaching methods to accommodate students’ varied backgrounds and learning styles.
- Assess student progress and provide timely feedback.
- Submit required college reports and forms.
- Review and recommend learning materials.
- Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
- Provide student access via office hours, electronic communication, and other appropriate methods.
- Engage in professional development and institutional service as directed.
- Assume other reasonable duties as assigned.

- Predominantly sedentary work; light walking, standing, bending, and occasional carrying of documents or equipment.
- Use of PC workstation, calculator, phone, and general office equipment.
- Interaction with internal and external contacts as required.
- Work in climate‑controlled classroom or lab with minimal safety hazards.
- Varied class hours; faculty must be available to students outside instruction times.
- Master’s degree in English, literature, creative writing, or a related field with 18 graduate hours in English, literature, creative writing, or rhetoric composition studies.
Commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications. Salary range is determined by experience and education using the submitted resume.
