- Teach Humanities courses at various times and locations, up to five classes per academic year.
- Create engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of material.
- Submit required college reports and forms timely.
- Follow institutional course syllabus guidelines.
- Meet with and advise students by appointment via email, electronic communication, or other appropriate methods.
- Evaluate students, report progress, and provide feedback.
- Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, and community.
- Attend meetings, trainings, and orientations as required.
- Perform other reasonable related duties as assigned.
- Mastery of course content.
- Leadership and collaborative facilitation skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to appreciate alternative viewpoints and work effectively with diverse people.
- Interest in interdisciplinary teaching, service learning, learning technologies, course development, adult learning methodologies.
- Commitment to academic excellence and dynamic climate for lifelong learning.
- Ability to implement instructional approaches such as service learning, learning communities, and technology.
- Use of effective strategies to engage students.
- Master’s degree in humanities, liberal arts, art history, classical studies, or equivalent (minimum 18 graduate hours in philosophy, English literature, arts, history, or humanities).
- Work is sedentary, with occasional walking, standing, bending, carrying light items, or driving.
- Uses PC workstation, calculator, phone, general office equipment.
- Work performed in climate‑controlled classroom/lab environment.
- Hours vary by class; available outside class instruction.
Salary: $55.44 per contact hour.
