• Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum requirements and demonstrate written evidence of preparation.
• Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
• Conduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.
• Work cooperatively with special education teacher to modify curricula as needed for special education students according to Individual Education Plans (IEP).
• Plan and supervise assignments of teacher aide(s) and volunteer(s).
• Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
• Help students analyze and improve study methods and habits through ongoing assessment of student achievement.
• Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned and sponsor approved outside activities.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.
• Establish and maintain open communication with parents, students, principals, and colleagues.
• Participate in staff development activities and maintain compliance with state, district, and school regulations.

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Valid Texas Teacher Certificate, or teaching certificate from out‑of‑state appropriate for the position.
• Evidence of having met all Texas Content exam requirements;
  Science of Teaching Reading exam requirements met, if applicable.
• Certification must meet all federal and state requirements for qualification and continued employment.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in the effective use of technology.
• Ability to instruct students and manage behavior.
