Role Mission:
IDEA Special Education teachers are responsible for supporting the achievement of students with special needs. They develop individualized plans and work with students who have diverse learning, cognitive, emotional, and physical disabilities. Teachers provide in-class support across various subjects, such as reading, writing, and math, according to outlined service minutes. They also teach content mastery tailored to students' accommodations and support needs.
Additionally, they serve as a vital link between home and school for our highest-need students and their families.
This is a grant-funded position with IDEA B funds, which may be extended. Funding is not guaranteed to be ongoing or indefinite. All duties are aligned with the grant's allowable activities, and the employee will work exclusively on these activities.
What We Offer Compensation:- Starting salary for 0 years of experience is $62,500. The role is eligible for stipends ranging from $500 to $4,000 based on certifications, credentials, and campus leadership roles. Opportunities through our Teacher Career Pathway can add up to $10,000 in additional compensation. More details are available on our compensation and benefits page.
- Additional hourly pay is available for after-school tutoring or Saturday school, as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution (required)
- Experience in a Special Education classroom (strongly preferred)
- Valid Texas certification in Special Education (required)
- Develop and implement IEPs for a caseload of students.
- Assess student performance, track progress, and update IEPs accordingly.
- Teach small groups, including students in general education, 504, RTI, Special Education, and ELL programs.
- Collect and analyze data to inform instruction.
- Communicate progress with students, families, and staff.
- Participate in meetings, prepare students for transitions, and adhere to state standards and curricula.
- Plan lessons, assess student learning, and adjust instruction as needed.
- Maintain a positive classroom environment and foster family engagement.
- Attend meetings and participate in ongoing professional development.
Minimum of 40+ hours at school per week. Additional duties may include after-school tutoring or Saturday school based on student needs.
