Secondary Mathematics Teacher (Full Time)
The Awty International School is seeking a qualified and passionate Secondary Mathematics Teacher for the 2026‑2027 academic year.
Position OverviewThe role involves creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment that fosters academic, social, and emotional growth in secondary students. The teacher will plan and implement engaging lessons aligned with curriculum standards, assess student progress, differentiate instruction, and build strong relationships with students and families.
Responsibilities- Effectively teach Mathematics and prepare lesson plans aligned with curriculum.
- Develop and implement engaging units and lessons.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs.
- Assess student learning, use data to adapt plans, and provide timely feedback.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively and consistently.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement best practices.
- Foster cross‑cultural understanding and appreciation.
- Incorporate cultural elements into lessons.
- Engage parents in their child’s education and communicate regularly.
- Supervise students during non‑instructional times and assist with school‑wide initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation and adhere to school policies.
- Participate in professional development and school events.
- BA or equivalent in Mathematics, Education, or related field.
- At least five years of full‑time teaching experience.
- Native‑speaker proficiency in English.
- Master’s degree in Education (or related field).
- Experience in an international or independent school.
- Experience with the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme or MYP.
- Education certification or related subject area certification.
- At least three years teaching in a secondary setting.
- Bilingual or highly proficient in French or Spanish.
- Demonstrated digital proficiency with electronic grade books, learning management systems, online learning platforms, digital portfolios, and AI‑assisted technology.
- Possess excellent teaching skills and pedagogy.
- Demonstrate knowledge of interactive methodologies, technology integration, and online learning software.
- Be well‑versed in current research and best practices in teaching and learning.
- Foster cross‑cultural understanding within the classroom and curriculum.
- Teach classes to mixed‑ability students from diverse cultural backgrounds, including those whose first language may not be English.
- Contribute to curriculum development.
