Campus Marketing Statement

LSC offers high-quality, low-cost academic transfer and career training to over 80,000 students each semester. The LSC Cypress Center is a satellite of LSC-CyFair, located at Clay and Fry roads, providing core academic courses and workforce space.

Job Description

Purpose and Scope: Provide learning activities and support to achieve course objectives and contribute to the educational environment. Plan, develop, and teach courses within the curriculum to facilitate student learning. Adjunct faculty are hired part‑time, semester‑by‑semester, on a max of five classes per academic year.

Core Responsibilities
  • Teach Art courses at various times and locations.
  • Create engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application.
  • Submit required college reports and forms promptly.
  • Utilize a course syllabus for each course in accordance with institutional guidelines.
  • Meet with and advise students through appointments, electronic communication, or other methods.
  • Evaluate student progress and provide timely feedback.
  • Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
  • Attend required meetings, trainings, and orientations.
  • Perform other reasonable related duties as assigned.

Physical Abilities

The work is sedentary, with occasional walking, standing, bending, and carrying light items. No special physical demands required.

Work Schedule and Conditions
  • Use of PC workstation, calculator, phone, and general office equipment.
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed.
  • Work occurs in a climate‑controlled classroom or lab.
  • Hours vary by class time; instructors must be available to students outside of class.
Required Qualifications
  • MA or MFA in art, studio art, art education, or art history, OR a Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in art, studio art, or art history.
Salary

$55.44 per contact hour.
