PositionSummary
The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Education Coordinator leads the education and training activities of Rice EMS, including programs for First Responders, EMTs, and Advanced EMTs, as well as continuing education for our providers. In this role, you’ll serve as a mentor, clinical supervisor, and educator, helping students build both technical expertise and teamwork and communication skills essential to health care.
This position offers the unique opportunity to shape the next generation of health care providers while contributing to the broader mission of Rice EMS. Our team plays a vital role on campus, from responding to individual patient needs, to planning and supporting large‑scale events, to standing ready for hurricane response. Ideal Candidate StatementWe are looking for an EMS Education Coordinator who is ready to take the next step in their career. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys teaching, mentoring, and shaping the next generation of EMS providers. The coordinator will design and manage educational programs, guide students through their clinical training, and build strong partnerships with training sites. This position also offers the opportunity to oversee program budgets and continually improve the quality of EMS education.

This position is exclusively on‑site, necessitating all duties to be performed in person and on campus. Per Rice policy 440, work arrangements may be subject to change.
Hiring Range$72,100 to $80,400, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Exempt (salaried) positions under FLSA are not eligible for overtime.
Minimum Requirements- Bachelor’s degree
- In lieu of the education requirement, additional related experience, above and beyond what is required, on an equivalent year‑for‑year basis may be substituted
- 3 years of experience as a clinical leader in a prehospital setting, and/or experience as an EMS educator
- Must possess (or have the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire) and maintain a valid Texas driver’s license with no more than three moving violations and/or at‑fault accidents within the past 36 months, and no convictions or deferred dispositions for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) or Driving Under the Influence (DUI) within the past three years
- Texas Paramedic EMS Certification or Licensure (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire)
