Adjunct Faculty in Finance, Hybrid – Northwest Houston, TX Campus
Strayer University is seeking a dynamic Adjunct Faculty member to join our academics team. This role teaches graduate-level finance courses in a hybrid format, combining 11 in-person 2‑hour sessions per week with an asynchronous online component. The position is part‑time (30 hours or more per week may be required). Students benefit from a faculty‑student coaching and mentorship approach.

Responsibilities- Teach assigned courses using a pre‑designed curriculum and professional expertise.
- Enhance curriculum effectiveness with technology, videos, and online platform enrichment.
- Arrive on‑campus at least half an hour prior to in‑person meetings each week.
- Be available via email, phone, text, and office hours to provide timely feedback.
- Establish clear assessment standards and communicate expectations.
- Adhere to university policies and procedures.
- Attend faculty meetings, workshops, or training as required.
- Strong academic technology knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Effective time‑management skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of academic evaluation.
- Proficiency in oral presentation skills and course objective planning.
- College‑level teaching experience, including online delivery, preferred.
- Minimum five years professional experience in a finance‑related field.
- Doctorate in Finance OR doctorate with 27 graduate quarter credit hours (18 semester credit hours) in Finance (Banking, Investments, Securities, etc.).
- Doctorate in a business‑related field with a Master’s in Finance or any Master’s with 27 graduate quarter credit hours (18 semester credit hours) in Finance.
- Professional certification in discipline specialty (if applicable).
- Ability to travel weekly to required location(s).
- Ability to lift 25 lbs.
- Typical office setting; mobility within the office.
- Travel via plane, car, or metro may be required.
- Must work more than 40 hours per week when business needs warrant.
- Access to information using a computer.
- Strong mental acuity and dependable attendance.
Expected starting pay per quarter: $2,300–$2,600 for online assignments; $3,000 for on‑campus assignments. Compensation ranges from $2,300 to $3,100 per course.
