Locum Tenens Pathologist Jobs – Anatomic & Clinical Pathology Physician in Harlingen, Texas

Texas Pathology Job Details
Location:
Harlingen, TX 78550 (South Texas healthcare jobs)
Setting: Hospital-based Pathology Department
Employment Type:
Locum Tenens Physician (Travel/Contract)
Duration: 13 weeks, with potential extension
Start Date:
ASAP
Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm; on-call after hours, weekends, and holidays
Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts as needed
Estimated Weekly Pay: $6,350–$7,520
Pathologist Qualifications
Board Certification in Pathology (MD required)
Minimum 1 year experience in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology
Fellowship training in Pathology preferred
Expertise in Gynecologic/Surgical Pathology highly desired
Ability to interpret and perform bone marrow aspirates and biopsies
Strong skills in cytology (GYN and Non-GYN), autopsy (forensic and non-forensic), and frozen section grossing
Experience in hematology, microbiology, chemistry/serology, and blood bank preferred
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Pathology Physician Responsibilities
Deliver expert diagnostic services in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology
Specialize in surgical pathology: GI, GU, neuropathology, dermatopathology, and pediatric tumor pathology
Perform and interpret bone marrow aspirates and biopsies
Conduct cytology evaluations, including fine needle aspirations (FNAs)
Participate in autopsy procedures (forensic and non-forensic)
Gross and cut frozen sections as needed
Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure high-quality patient care
Provide on-call coverage after hours, weekends, and holidays
