Job Responsibilities:

Perform gross and microscopic examinations of tissue samples, blood and other bodily fluids to diagnose diseases and conditions.

Minimum

Education Requirements:

Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
Residency training program in pathology by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
License &

Certifications:

Board certification in pathology by the American Board of Pathology (ABP) or the American Osteopathic Board of Pathology (AOBP).
Active and unrestricted medical license in Texas.
Additional certifications in subspecialties such as cytopathology, hematopathology or forensic pathology may be required or preferred.

Experience:

While specific requirements may vary, most locum pathologist positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience providing care in a clinical setting.
