Pedi Hem​/Onc Clinical Division - Assistant Professor - West Campus

Summary

The Department of Pediatrics is currently seeking an Assistant Professor for the Pedi Hem/Onc Clinical Division on the West Campus.

Scope of practice:

• Manages outpatient and inpatient care for Pediatric Hematology and Oncology patients in a community hospital setting
• Provides inpatient coverage as part of a rotation with the hospital's physicians, including daily rounds, work of the day, nighttime acute needs, and evening phone calls from hospital staff
• Handles parent phone calls via page operator during evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Performs procedures such as bone marrow harvests and lumbar punctures as indicated
• Ensures availability of subspecialty backup and consultation via physicians at Texas Children’s Hospital Main Campus

Minimum requirements:

• MD or equivalent degree
• Board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology
• Prior to employment start date, must obtain a Texas Medical License and DEA registration
