CHRISTUS Children's, a world-class 240-bed freestanding children's hospital in San Antonio, serves as a focal point for pediatric services throughout the community. In 2013, CHRISTUS Health finalized an agreement partnering with Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) to recruit, employ, and oversee physicians and advanced practice providers at CHRISTUS Children's.

BCM is associated with multiple educational, healthcare, and research affiliates.

The Division of Hospital Medicine of the Department of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine has an opening for a full-time faculty position at CHRISTUS Children's as a Pediatric Hospitalist. This position includes a faculty appointment within the Department of Pediatrics, a competitive salary, and a full benefits package. The rank of the appointment will depend on the candidate's credentials and experience.

Candidates must be committed to education, collaboration, and excellence in patient care.

The PHM division includes thirteen pediatric hospitalists, two fellows, and an administrative coordinator. Responsibilities include 24/7 in-house coverage, inpatient management on general medicine wards, consultation or co-management with sub-specialty services, and care of normal newborns. The team has full coverage of pediatric specialists and surgical services with BCM and CHRISTUS Children's. Additional duties involve teaching fellows, residents, medical students, and rotators, as well as involvement in hospital operations, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives.

Faculty interested in clinical research can utilize resources at the Voelcker Clinical Research Center at Christus Children's.

Responsibilities include providing hospital care to pediatric inpatients, including overnight coverage; consultations and co-management of sub-specialty, surgical, and psychiatric patients; pediatric sedation; teaching medical trainees; engaging in quality and safety initiatives; and dedicating time to academic activities such as clinical informatics, outcomes research, child advocacy, education, or quality improvement.

• MD/DO degree
• Licensed or eligible for licensure by the Texas Medical Board
• Board eligible or certified in Pediatric Hospital Medicine
