VHS is seeking dedicated General Medicine Physicians to provide essential Compensation and Pension exams, as well as Separation Health Assessments, to support our nation's Veterans. This impactful role offers flexible PRN scheduling across various locations in Arizona, allowing you to contribute your expertise while maintaining work-life balance. Required Skills:

• Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
• Active medical license in Arizona
• Proven experience in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or related general medicine fields
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to conduct interview-based assessments
• Ability to perform physical assessments such as range of motion and muscle strength testing
• Knowledge of veterans' medical evaluation processes and standards

Nice to Have

Skills:

• Prior experience with compensation and pension examinations
• Familiarity with government or military health assessment procedures
• Certification or training related to veterans' medical evaluations

Preferred

Education and Experience:

• Medical degree (MD or DO) with at least 2 years of clinical experience
• Previous work in a similar assessment or evaluation setting is advantageous

Other Requirements:

• Must reside within the specified radius of assigned locations (Flagstaff, Sierra Vista, Tuba City/Chinle, Nogales, Safford, Payson)
• Ability to work on a PRN basis, with flexible half-day (4 hours) or full-day (8 hours) shifts
• Quick credentialing and onboarding process
• Willingness to perform administrative follow-up work (addendums, reports)
• Must have own office space if working independently at certain locations
• Travel is included in the pay rates; no additional reimbursements for certifications or portal training

Hourly Rate: $624.00
Hourly, overtime, and holiday rates are not applicable. For PRN assignments, a flat rate of $800 (4 hours or less) or $1,600 (full day) applies, including exam time and report submission. Additional bonuses are available for completing initial training and exams.
