The ideal candidate will have completed an accredited pediatric neurosurgery fellowship and will be interested in clinical practice, research, and teaching. The successful candidate will become the fourth pediatric neurosurgeon in the program with joint faculty appointments in the Departments of Pediatric Surgery and Neurosurgery.

Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital is a Level I trauma center with 310 beds located in the Texas Medical Center and is part of the 14 hospital Memorial Hermann Healthcare System. Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital has the region's only hospital-based air ambulance service and a large Level Ill NICU. The pediatric neurosurgery service includes strong established clinical programs in pediatric neuro-oncology, movement disorder surgery, epilepsy surgery, vascular neurosurgery, craniofacial surgery, and fetal myelomeningocele repair.

The group has well-established NIH-funded translational research. The overall pediatric neuroscience program is state-of-the-art with multi-disciplinary treatment boards, targeted molecular therapy, radiation oncology, research, and outreach/marketing.

The service is supported by a pediatric neurosurgery fellow, full-time neurosurgery residents from the UTH Department of Neurosurgery, as well as advanced practice providers. The Residency Program matches three residents per year, based in the adult hospital attached on the same campus. The pediatric resident rotation is a celebrated, integral part of the overall program, with shared call and resources. This position offers excellent salary and benefits, and start-up funding is available for research.

  • Texas Medical License or eligible for a Texas Faculty Temporary License.
