Position: Hematopathologist/Surgical Pathologist (Assistant Professor)

Summary

The Department of Pathology & Immunology at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) invites applications for a full-time Hematopathologist/Surgical Pathologist to join our dynamic and collaborative team. We are seeking a highly motivated, academically driven physician with exceptional diagnostic skills and a passion for education, research, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Located in the heart of the Texas Medical Center, the largest medical complex in the world, BCM offers unparalleled opportunities for clinical excellence, academic advancement, and impactful research. You’ll work closely with renowned institutions including Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center, a leader in solid organ transplantation, and the Dan L Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center, an NCI-designated center at the forefront of cancer care and research.

Job Duties
  • Provide expert diagnostic services in hematopathology and surgical pathology, contributing to over 170,000 annual surgical specimens.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of pathologists, oncologists, and transplant specialists.
  • Engage in teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows in both the School of Medicine and Graduate School.
  • Participate in scholarly and translational research initiatives that advance the field of pathology and improve patient care.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Board eligibility or certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology (ABP).
  • Subspecialty training and board eligibility/certification in Hematopathology.
  • Additional training in Transfusion Medicine is a plus.
  • Eligibility for an unrestricted Texas Medical License.
  • While 3+ years of experience is preferred, new fellowship graduates are encouraged to apply.
