Innovative Environments is seeking an experienced CAD Detailer to join our Art Department and help bring creative environments to life. In this role, you will transform concept renderings into precise 2D and 3D fabrication drawings for custom tradeshow exhibits, branded spaces, and corporate environments.

Experience with tradeshow exhibits, millwork, or custom fabrication environments is strongly preferred.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys turning creative ideas into accurate, buildable designs and collaborating with designers, project managers, and fabrication teams to produce high‑quality custom environments.

Position Overview

The CAD Detailer translates concept sketches and renderings into detailed Vectorworks 2D and 3D fabrication drawings that guide production and installation.

This role works closely with the Art Director, design consultants, project managers, and fabrication team to ensure projects are engineered accurately and ready for production.

Successful candidates understand how to create drawings that consider materials, fabrication methods, cost efficiency, and installation requirements.

Key Responsibilities CAD Detailing & Production Support
  • Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings using Vectorworks and Illustrator
  • Convert design renderings into fabrication‑ready shop drawings
  • Develop CNC cut files and bills of material
  • Prepare graphic layouts using Adobe Illustrator
  • Coordinate dimensions, details, and construction methods
  • Ensure drawings account for cost efficiency, durability, and installation
  • Review and coordinate third‑party shop drawings
  • Maintain organized and accurate project file management
Collaboration
  • Work closely with design, project management, and fabrication teams
  • Provide technical clarification to production teams
  • Update drawings based on client feedback and design revisions
  • Participate in project and production meetings
Qualifications Required
  • 1+ years of CAD detailing experience
  • Strong proficiency with Vectorworks (BIM‑CAD software)
  • Experience creating shop drawings or fabrication drawings
  • Strong understanding of construction methods and materials
  • Experience with Adobe Illustrator
  • Ability to interpret design renderings and technical concepts
Preferred
  • Experience in tradeshow exhibits, millwork, retail displays, or experiential environments
  • Experience creating CNC cut files
  • Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop
  • Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Industrial Design, or a related field
