Full-time position available with Haworth’s largest, global contract furniture dealer. Established in 1981, we are a 2nd generation, family-owned company looking for the ideal candidate to join our team.
Our clients range from local businesses to some of the largest companies on the globe with projects ranging from a single office to a fully furnished new building.
Project Designers work closely with the sales team and clients on commercial interior design, space planning and programming, selecting commercial office products and curation of world-class spaces for our clients.
Responsibilities and Duties:- Work with salesperson and/or client to determine purpose and function of environment, budget, scope of project, time schedules, types of furniture and equipment to be installed, and other factors which affect planning interior environments.
- Advise salesperson and/or client on interior design factors such as space planning, layout and utilization of furnishings and equipment, color schemes, color coordination and codes according to local governing jurisdictions.
- Provide schematic design and design development drawings.
- Coordinate design intent with architectural, mechanical and electrical plans.
- Build final validation packets for sign-off from client.
- Create installation drawings and core plans for installation and project management.
- Maintain project files and time sheets on all work performed according to departmental guidelines.
- Attend all design/sales meetings and educational seminars as requested.
- Attend client meetings, both on-site and off-site as requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Required Education
- Bachelor’s degree with emphasis on interior design
- Required skills
- High level of product knowledge regarding commercial office furniture
- High level of independence – able to work with minimal supervision
- Thrive in a fast-paced work environment
- Have a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and be self-motivated
- Working knowledge of accessibility codes
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Detail-oriented
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Preferred skills
- CIDQ certification or similar certification (WELL, LEED)
- Working knowledge of AUTOCAD, CET, Project Matrix
- Strong acumen with Microsoft office products
