About the Opportunity

Were seeking a Senior Project Architect / Senior Technical Designer for one of our clients a leading interior architecture and workplace design firm dedicated to shaping spaces that inspire performance and creativity. In this on‑site role in Houston, you'll lead the technical development of complex projects, ensure design intent is flawlessly executed, and serve as a mentor and trusted advisor within the team.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead and coordinate the development of construction documents
    , defining deliverables, production schedules, and documentation standards in collaboration with project designers and managers.
  • Ensure PDR technical and documentation standards are followed across all phases, maintaining consistency, precision, and compliance with internal processes.
  • Participate in design development, understanding architectural challenges and translating design intent into clear, buildable solutions.
  • Direct the project team in producing accurate, code‑compliant construction sets, including set organization, detailing complex assemblies, assigning team responsibilities, and ensuring timely submissions to permitting authorities.
  • Serve as the teams expert on building codes and accessibility, guiding junior staff on research, specifications, and documentation of architectural elements.
  • Lead construction administration efforts reviewing submittals, RFIs, and field reports; issuing punch lists; resolving site issues; and advising clients on potential design or schedule impacts.
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, specification writers, and regulatory agencies, facilitating internal and external reviews at project milestones to ensure alignment and quality.
  • Maintain open communication with project managers, principals, and team members, fostering a collaborative environment focused on quality, profitability, and client satisfaction.
  • Mentor and develop junior staff, providing feedback on documentation standards, quality control, and professional growth.
  • Participate in design reviews, charrettes, and client presentations, contributing both technical insight and creative problem‑solving.
  • Stay actively engaged in the design community through firm events, vendor presentations, and professional networking supporting business development and continuous learning.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design from a CIDA‑ or NCARB‑accredited program.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in architecture, interior architecture, or workplace design.
  • Registered Architect or Interior Designer, or actively pursuing registration (must be registered within a year of starting position).

Active participation in IIDA, AIA, or similar professional organizations.

  • Strong proficiency in parametric modeling, visualization, and construction documentation tools.

Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.

Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and collaborative

Must work in the office 3 days a week or more.
