Job Description & How to Apply Below

A rapidly growing, vertically integrated real estate development firm is seeking a Director of Landscape Architecture to lead landscape strategy across a portfolio of single-family residential and commercial developments.

This is a senior leadership opportunity within an active development platform — projects are moving from entitlement through construction. The team is looking for someone who understands execution, municipal coordination, and delivering landscapes that are both design-forward and buildable.

The Role

You will lead landscape master planning across residential communities, retail, hospitality, mixed-use, and multifamily developments while mentoring and elevating an internal design team.

This individual will work directly with architecture, civil engineering, and construction leadership to ensure seamless coordination from concept through field execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead landscape master planning for residential and commercial developments
  • Oversee and mentor landscape designers
  • Drive planting design, irrigation systems, hardscape detailing, and streetscape concepts
  • Coordinate closely with civil teams on grading, drainage, detention, and infrastructure
  • Lead municipal coordination and ensure development code compliance
  • Participate in entitlement strategy and city meetings
  • Review construction documents and support field execution
  • Balance design excellence with budget and schedule discipline

This role requires someone who understands development — not just drawings.

Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in residential and commercial development
  • Experience leading or mentoring design teams
  • Strong knowledge of Texas municipal processes and development codes
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Sketch Up, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Visualization and rendering capabilities preferred
  • Strong coordination and communication skills
