This Interior Designer position, whether located in the Houston or Dallas area, will focus primarily on K-12 education projects along with select commercial projects. The role is responsible for providing high-quality rendering packages to the sales team efficiently while maintaining a high level of detail.

Position Requirements
  • Specify and space plan various furniture solutions through collaboration with co-workers in accordance with project guidelines
  • Create rendering packages and various presentation tools for the sales team in alignment with Lone Star Furnishings standards.
  • Participate in client meetings with the sales team to support the revision and selection process, including finishes and specifications.
  • Confirm accuracy of project specifications and ensure integration of Life Safety and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) code requirements.
  • Assist in maintaining the finish library and showroom, ensuring cleanliness, accuracy, and sourcing of finishes.
  • Maintain current knowledge of trends within design and the K-12 industry, including attendance at continuing education courses and required training.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design. (Completed or in Progress).
  • A portfolio demonstrating design work, strong communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience using CAD software for renderings (Revit, Sketch Up, or similar). CET Configura knowledge is preferred.
  • Willingness to learn new design software and industry products.
  • Specification, space planning, and systems furniture knowledge. (Previous K-12 design experience is desirable but not required).
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently on design projects with minimal assistance.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills to manage multiple ongoing projects and revisions.
  • Occasional travel required; mileage will be reimbursed.
