Design Manager | Houston, TX

Hybrid Working Style (3 days in-office, 2 days remote)

We are hiring for our client—a forward‑thinking design firm known for its transparent, autonomous, flexible, fun, and highly collaborative culture. They are seeking an inspiring Design Manager to champion design excellence, lead an integrated studio environment, and evolve the firm’s design identity and practice across multiple offices.

The Design Manager will guide the next chapter of the firm’s design evolution. This leader will develop and articulate a strong design voice, elevate design standards, and nurture a culture centered on innovation, curiosity, and high performance.

You will serve as the firm’s Design Service Lead Expert, supporting teams with design leadership, elevating the quality of all deliverables, and ensuring a cohesive design vision. This role blends creative direction, mentorship, practice leadership, and strategic business development—ideal for a seasoned designer who thrives at the intersection of creativity and organizational leadership.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design.
  • 15+ years of Interior Architecture experience; at least 10 years in commercial interiors.
  • Licensed Architect or Interior Designer.
  • LEED CI and WELL Building accreditation (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
  • Design visioning and strategy
  • Innovative and human‑centered design
  • Materials and FFE
  • Detailing and constructability
  • Code, ADA, budget, and schedule alignment
  • Proficiency in Revit, Enscape, Adobe Creative Suite, and MS Office.
  • Strong storytelling, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Business development confidence and the ability to articulate design value to clients.
  • Demonstrated leadership excellence—mentorship, collaboration, accountability, and motivation.
  • Highly organized, research‑driven, self‑directed, and able to balance multiple priorities.
  • Actively engaged in the design community and committed to elevating the profession.
