Position: Design Assistant (Temp/Contracted, In-Office, Full-Time)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Interior Designer with a minimum of 2 years of experience to support our in-house design team on a full‑time, in‑office, contract basis. This role is ideal for someone who works well in a fast‑paced environment and assists with design selections, documentation, client/buyer meetings and presentations, and field-related tasks on active new‑construction residential projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the design team to create, execute, support and maintain all design details for current and upcoming projects
  • Support client and buyer meetings through preparation of presentation materials, detailed note‑taking, and post‑meeting communications
  • Prepare marketing brochures for various projects based on curated design selections
  • Develop conceptual and schematic exterior and interior rendering concepts
  • Assist with drafting and detailing trim, millwork, and tile designs using AutoCAD or Chief Architect
  • Assist with sourcing and making design selections throughout each design phase. Selections may include interior and exterior finishes, doors, windows, trim profiles, plumbing valves and fixtures, hardware, lighting, appliances, tile, and countertops
  • Conduct site visits and assist with light project‑management tasks
  • Attend vendor showroom visits and coordinate sample runs
  • Organize and maintain the Design Center library by cataloguing, labeling, and managing samples
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in residential interior design or similar
  • Proficient in design software (Chief Architect, AutoCAD, Google Applications, Adobe Suites, Microsoft Suites, etc.)
  • Strong detail, organization and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to follow established processes and maintain consistent documentation
  • Comfortable working in an open office environment and participating in job‑site check‑ins
  • Excellent communication and time‑management skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise, and support multiple projects simultaneously
  • Reliable transportation; must be able to travel to/from jobsites, client meetings, vendor showrooms, etc.
Contract Disclaimer

This is a fixed‑term, 4‑month contract position (1099). Benefits are not included, and compensation is paid bi‑weekly. The role is not advertised as permanent or temp‑to‑hire. Any continuation beyond the contract period would be based solely on business needs and is not guaranteed.
