Overview

Who We Are

PDR is an interior architecture and workplace design firm committed to shaping a better world through the power of design. We believe that the workplace is a strategic business tool. It's more than a location, it's a catalyst for culture, productivity, and growth. As we continue to design forward-thinking environments that empower people to thrive, we're looking for a dynamic, versatile professional to join our team and help amplify our story.

Why join us?

We are a people-first firm. At PDR, you'll be part of a culture that champions innovation, collaboration, and purposeful design. We offer a flexible, supportive environment that encourages continuous learning and celebrates collective success.

Who We Are Looking For

As a Project Manager at PDR, you will join a talented, thoughtful team that works to create meaningful experiences for our clients that allow them to thrive and grow as a business. You should be a fast learner with a focus on leading a team of designers and outside consultants through the full design, documentation, and construction process. A Project Manager at PDR should be an expert in client management, project planning and processes, and should demonstrate considerable problem-solving abilities in the administration of our projects.

Leadership, foresight, and professional judgement will be required while acting as a trusted advisor to the project team and PDR clients.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Client Management
  • Project Managers at PDR should form a trusted relationship with their clients, while maintaining professional decorum.
  • You will be expected to seek out regular touchpoints with your clients, outside of project meetings, to determine client satisfaction and intercept other issues before they become stumbling-blocks for the design team.
  • Provide monthly updates to the Principal in Charge regarding the health of the account, and client satisfaction. More frequent updates may be required if the account is in distress.
  • Design Team Management
  • Chart the course, and set the pace, for the design team. Clear the path and remove obstacles so they can focus on creating exceptional design without administrative distractions.
  • Act as the conduit between the client and the design team starting at the project inception, and continuing through completion, ensuring adherence to client requirements, budget, schedule, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate project activities, schedules, and resources among architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors. Project Managers should always be at least 2 weeks ahead of their team with all their responsibilities.
  • Conduct regular meetings and reviews to monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Administration
  • Oversee project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control measures.
  • Prepare project status reports, fee proposals, schedules, and other relevant presentations to clients and stakeholders.
  • Ensure all project documents are organized, accessible, and comply with client standards, PDR Standards, and all regulatory requirements.
  • On some accounts, manage the distribution, storage, and retrieval of architectural drawings, specifications, and correspondence using the clients’ document control standards.
  • Mentoring
  • Be present for your team. Provide guidance, leadership, and support to all team members.
  • Educate the team on the importance of working within the project financial, schedule, and budget constraints.
  • Foster a collaborative and learning-focused environment where knowledge sharing and professional development are encouraged.
  • When required, assist in the training of staff on project management tools, procedures, and best practices (and development of tools).
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or demonstrated experience in the field of interior commercial construction.
  • 15+ years of related industry experience.
  • 5+ years of interior architectural project management experience.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Dynamics or other similar CRM system, Microsoft Project or other similar scheduling and planning software).
