Role Description: Huitt-Zollars has a great full-time opportunity for a Senior Project Architect at our Houston Downtown office. This role involves supporting design teams through all project phases including business and client development, programming, design and construction documents, and construction administration while maintaining strong client relationships. The ideal candidate will have experience in Institutional, Commercial, and/or Public Works markets.

Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture

• Lead technical design for the office and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to produce design documents for various building types.
• Plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of projects with high technical complexity.
• Supervise project team’s work cooperatively with project managers and designers.
• Ensure project development, documentation, and completion meet schedule, budget, code, and quality standards.
• Review work, propose design changes, and ensure compliance with building codes and budgets.
• Develop action plans to resolve project issues.
• Assist with bids and contractor selection.
• Support market sector teams in proposals and new project presentations.
• Collaborate with project teams to solve problems and provide creative solutions.

• Prepare and follow comprehensive project plans, assign staff appropriately.
• Review project reports and performance metrics to track progress and budget.
• Contribute to successful project delivery and performance.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Follow Huitt-Zollars' business processes and weekly rhythms.
• Engage in business development activities, including pursuit of new work and office sales goals.
• Adhere to quality management systems and quality initiatives.
• Mentor junior staff and promote a learning culture.
• Maintain current technical knowledge and skills.

• Bachelor of Architecture required.
• Registered Licensed Architect in Texas required.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience.
• Technical experience in building construction.
• Experience in Institutional, Commercial, and/or Public Works markets.
• Proficiency in REVIT and Adobe Suite; working knowledge of Sketch Up.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Leadership and team coordination abilities.
• Ability to interact with owners and user groups.
• Strong organizational skills.
