Dental Hygienist – Mobile

Join Harris County Public Health (HCPH) to provide preventive dental services on mobile units across Harris County. This role supports public health goals by delivering high-quality oral care to diverse communities.

• Provide preventive dental services (cleanings, scaling, polishing) with skill, care, and good judgment.
• Place dental sealants as prescribed.
• Document patient treatment and related correspondence in the electronic dental chart.
• Taken prescribed dental radiographs.
• Communicate dental treatment information to patients, parents, and clinical staff.
• Demonstrate proper oral hygiene techniques.
• Perform infection control and instrument sterilization per dental policies.
• Performs procedures to identify and document stages of gum disease.
• Participate in school-based and community events to promote oral health.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Education: HS Diploma or equivalent; graduation from an accredited dental hygiene school.
• Experience: 0 to 1 year in a dental clinical setting as a practicing dental hygienist.
• Licensure: Valid driver’s license (TX upon hire);
  Texas Dental Hygiene License;
  Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Proficient in MS Office Suite; ability to work well with public and staff members; use personal mobile device for Multifactor Authentication.
