Openwork Staffing is seeking experienced, TCOLE-certified 911 Dispatchers to support Harris County public safety operations in a part-time capacity. This opportunity is designed for professionals who understand the realities of emergency communications and want to continue contributing their skills in a high-impact role—without committing to a full-time schedule.

Position OverviewAs a 911 Dispatcher, you will serve as a vital link between the public and emergency responders. Your experience, judgment, and ability to remain calm under pressure will directly support law enforcement and public safety operations across Harris County.
Key Responsibilities- Answer and process emergency and non-emergency calls with accuracy and professionalism.
- Dispatch units and coordinate responses with law enforcement agencies.
- Utilize Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems to document calls and support field operations.
- Conduct warrant and identity checks using TCIC/NCIC and Open Fox systems.
- Manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining focus, composure, and attention to detail.
- This role is open to experienced dispatch professionals only.
- TCOLE Basic Telecommunicator Certification.
- Minimum of two years of law enforcement dispatch experience.
- Current CPR certification.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience with CAD, TCIC/NCIC, and Open Fox systems.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
- Demonstrated ability to perform effectively in high-pressure, time-sensitive environments.
- Starting pay of $22 per hour, with higher rates available based on experience, certifications, and skill level.
- Up to 32 hours per week, with overtime opportunities available.
- Part-time schedule that may include weekends, holidays, and fill-in shifts.
- Temporary assignment with potential for ongoing placement.
- On-site work at Harris County’s communications facility in Southside Houston.
