A well-established General Contractor in Houston is looking to add an experienced Estimator to their growing preconstruction team. This is a great opportunity to join a reputable builder with a strong pipeline of ground-up commercial work across multiple sectors.
The CompanyThis GC delivers ground-up commercial projects across office, retail, healthcare, education, municipal, and mixed‑use sectors. Known for repeat business and strong client relationships, they offer long‑term stability and a collaborative team environment.
The RoleAs Estimator, you will play a key role in pricing and securing new ground‑up commercial projects. You’ll work closely with ownership, project management, and field teams to develop accurate, competitive bids and budgets.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform quantity take-offs and scope reviews
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation
- Identify value engineering opportunities
- Assist with budgeting, conceptual estimates, and GMP development
- Support handover to operations teams post‑award
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience estimating ground‑up commercial construction projects
- Strong understanding of commercial construction methods and pricing
- Experience across sectors such as office, retail, healthcare, education, or municipal
- Proficient in take‑off and estimating software
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously
