We are seeking a qualified Diver to support oral water immersion work in marine construction projects s role requires meticulous planning, execution, and completion of dive operations while ensuring the highest safety standards for yourself and your team.

Position Summary

This position is accountable for performing dive operations in a marine construction work environment. All dive operations must be planned, performed, and completed in a manner that ensures the safety of the Diver. The incumbent will collaborate closely with the Operations Manager, Diving Supervisor, Dive Tenders, other Divers, and if the activities support company projects, with the Project Superintendent and other personnel.

Specific

Responsibilities
  • Works as assigned by the Diving Supervisor to ensure safe and successful completion of all diving operations.
  • Performs tasks topside and underwater as directed by the Diving Supervisor.
  • Ensures all diver-worn equipment is properly maintained, complete, and ready to use; assists with maintenance and repair of all diving equipment as required.
  • Obeys all commands or signals to return to the surface immediately.
  • Reports any physical problems before and after any dive to the Diving Supervisor.
  • Follows safe diving the Diving Manual, Company Policies and Procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Prepares and makes readily available an on‑site Emergency Plan for all dive team members, including nearest recompression facility contact details.
  • Participates in company‑sponsored training on company policies, mandatory regulatory guidelines, first aid, and CPR.
  • Contributes to safety and environmental initiatives that enhance compliance with state/federal regulations and improve company programs.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary, trade secret, or confidential company information.
  • Acts responsibly to ensure personal safety and the safety of co‑workers and others in contact with the incumbent.
  • Stops work at any point when an unsafe condition is anticipated or observed.
  • Complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies; reports violations promptly.
  • Performs other related administrative and technical duties as assigned, such as certification training or procedure reviews.
Position Requirements
  • Minimum of two (2) years of dive‑tending experience.
  • Successful completion of commercial dive training from a certified dive school.
  • At least 18 years of age and able to pass a physical examination.
  • Competent in the use of diving equipment, tools, and procedures for the depths and conditions of work.
  • Preferred experience working on marine‑related construction projects.
  • Good verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively as a member of a dive team.
  • Strong commitment to safety and workplace compliance; disciplinary action may result from violations.
Physical/Mental Requirements
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, respirators, ear plugs, steel‑toed shoes, etc.
  • Identify critical issues and formulate action plans with management at all levels.
  • Remain calm and respond appropriately during emergencies; evacuate the work area promptly if needed.
In Addition, Divers Must Also Be Capable Of
  • Walking, stepping, climbing, and moving from one work site location to another, including onto/off barges, boats, and dock facilities of varying heights.
  • Standing, stooping, kneeling, squatting, climbing, or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Working in underwater environments up to 60 feet of sea water (FSW).
  • Operating in confined spaces.
  • Carrying objects up to 50 lbs as required.
  • Adapting to extreme temperature changes and outdoor conditions.
  • Remaining calm and responding appropriately during emergencies.
