Join our team as a Dirt Superintendent! We are seeking an experienced leader to oversee the construction of roadways, dams, highways, pipelines, and other projects ranging in cost from five million to 30 million dollars. As a Superintendent, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects and may be designated to work away from home for extended periods based on project needs.

Description
Responsibilities and abilities of the Dirt Superintendent include, but are not limited to:
Reading, understanding, interpreting, and enforcing safety policies and practicesReading and understanding plans, specifications, and local building codesScheduling and documenting all required inspections, quality testing, or other compliance requirementsComplying with and documenting environmental permits and inspectionsCompleting daily reports such as units complete, safety reports, EEO meetings, and weekly unit cost worksheetsReading and understanding global project schedules and generating two‑week construction schedules weeklyScheduling and ordering materials, inspections, and manpower to meet project schedules and specificationsInspecting work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and adherence to construction schedulesConferring with and directing personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delaysMaintaining a general knowledge of equipment used on the job, including basic understanding of equipment limits and designed purposesTracking delivery, use, and completion of rentals on the jobCompleting regular performance reviews for employees under his/her direction in a complete and timely manner, ensuring the employee understands the review, signs the review form, and is provided a copy for his/her recordsConferring with personnel to resolve complaints and grievances within the workforceCompleting 10 hours per year of continued education relating to our fieldAttending monthly Superintendent meetings and participating activelyPosition Requirements

A minimum of 4 years of dirt/earth Supervisor or Foreman work experience leading heavy equipment crews (e.g., trackhoe, backhoe, loader, crane, bobcat, skid steer, etc.)A minimum of 10 years of work experience and understanding of all phases of utility/urban reconstructionA minimum of 10 years of concrete work – specifically concrete removalA minimum of 5 years of reading blueprint and specs for dirt work on roadway earthwork projectsEducation – four or more years of related experience and/or training; or a bachelor's degree from a four‑year college or university; or an equivalent combination of education and experienceA minimum of 5 years of experience in scheduling, ordering, field supervision, safety management, quality control, and budgeting of all phases of civil constructionFlexible availability to include overtime and possible weekendsValid driver’s licensePass criminal and driving background checksBenefits
