Jomar is hiring a General Superintendent with proven background experience in new commercial electrical construction in Houston, TX. Qualified candidates for this role MUST HAVE experience running commercial projects from $100K to $5 million and hold a current Texas Electrical Journeyman license, along with having at least 15-20 years of experience in a superintendent/supervisory position.
Responsibilities- This senior-level role ensures that projects are delivered safely on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and compliance.
- As the on-site leader, the General Superintendent will supervise crews, coordinate with stakeholders, manage schedules and resources, and ensure all work meets or exceeds regulatory and client expectations.
- This role is responsible for guiding other Superintendents, reinforcing leadership, consistency, and high-performance execution across all job sites.
- Supervise daily operations on active job sites, ensuring compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and project plans.
- Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules in collaboration with project managers.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and other trades to avoid delays.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure high-quality work and resolve deficiencies.
- Enforce OSHA standards and company safety policies along with leading regular safety meetings and inspections.
- Ensure tools, materials, and equipment are available and properly maintained to support project progress.
- Monitor and manage labor and material costs and identify cost-saving strategies with project management.
- Client & Stakeholder Communication:
Act as the on-site point of contact for clients, general contractors, and internal teams. - Quickly identify and resolve job site challenges, including design issues, resource shortages, or schedule conflicts.
- Maintain daily logs, progress reports, and job site records.
- Project Close-Out:
Oversee final work inspections and assist with project turnover documentation. - Assist with the implementation and interpretation of safety policies, procedures, and programs.
- Participate in safety / incident investigations and reviews.
- Develop, implement, and monitor quality control programs.
- Requisition of supplies and materials for projects.
- Ensure superintendents routinely prepare and submit labor and cost tracking.
- Must have a Valid Texas Journeyman or apprentice license.
- Must have at 10+ years commercial experience as a superintendent or in a senior supervisory position.
- Must be willing to travel to multiple project sites.
- Must have good employment record with proven track record of successful project management.
