Position Overview

We are seeking a traveling superintendent who is highly motivated, organized, and a true self‑starter. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in the fast‑paced world of airport construction and is ready to take ownership of both project delivery and market development in Texas.

This position combines field leadership with business development responsibilities – ensuring projects are executed safely and successfully while also helping to identify and pursue new opportunities in the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate all phases of construction projects at IAH and other Texas airports.
  • Manage subcontractors, schedules, quality control, and jobsite safety.
  • Provide clear communication with clients, owners, and internal teams.
  • Take initiative in building J & J Construction’s presence in Texas by:
    • Identifying small works/ticket work opportunities.
    • Building local client and vendor relationships.
    • Supporting project managers and estimators in securing new work.
  • Travel as needed across projects in the region.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of commercial construction experience, preferably in airports or secure facilities.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing projects from start to finish.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, safety protocols, and scheduling.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to travel frequently as projects require.
  • Self‑motivated with the drive to build and grow a regional market presence.
