Heavy Equipment Operator, Site Manager
We are hiring OSP Fiber Build QC Supervisors to support active wireline fiber construction projects across the Houston area. This role focuses on quality control, field supervision, and oversight of underground fiber construction and restoration work.
About the RoleThis position is well-suited for experienced OSP fiber professionals who want to step into a QC supervisory role while remaining hands‑on in the field. You will work directly with crews, subcontractors, and operations leadership to ensure safety, quality, and production standards are consistently met.
Responsibilities- Supervise and inspect QC activities on active fiber construction sites
- Coordinate, dispatch, and oversee crews and subcontractors
- Ensure fiber placement, repairs, and site restoration meet contract and safety requirements
- Monitor safety, quality, and daily production metrics
- Maintain daily production reports and required documentation
- Inspect trucks and equipment for safety and operational compliance
- Participate in daily and weekly calls with operations leadership and customers
- Resolve field and customer issues as they arise
- Support after-hours, weekend, emergency, or on‑call work as needed
- Strong wireline OSP fiber build experience (wireless‑only backgrounds will not be considered)
- Experience with underground fiber construction and restoration
- Construction Engineering background or equivalent field experience
- 5+ years in telecommunications or utility construction/maintenance
- Prior QC, inspection, or supervisory experience
- Experience managing multiple crews and subcontractors
- CDL (preferred, not required)
- Underground fiber infrastructure
- Utility trucks, construction equipment, hand tools, and safety equipment
- Construction software and reporting tools
- Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google applications
Base Salary: $ (flexible based on experience)
