About the Company & Role:
We’ve partnered with a 45+ year nationally renowned general contractor and are hiring a Project Manager for their new Houston office. This individual will lead high‑impact industrial and tilt wall projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring delivery on time, on budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. You’ll guide teams, solve problems, and strengthen relationships every step of the way.
Ideal Candidate:
- 5+ years managing ground‑up tilt wall and light industrial construction projects in the $5M–$100M+ range.
- Experience working on large ground‑up projects, especially data centers, distribution centers, life sciences, warehouses, and other tilt wall projects in the Texas market.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience). Preferred, not required.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, drawings, specs, and safety standards.
- Skilled in scheduling, budgeting, and problem‑solving.
- Excellent communicator with a team‑oriented mindset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Procore, Bluebeam, or similar.
What You’ll Do:
- Own project delivery from preconstruction through closeout.
- Develop and maintain schedules, budgets, scopes, and logistics.
- Review and implement owner contract requirements.
- Lead preconstruction and progress meetings with superintendents, subs, and design teams.
- Manage subcontractor buyout, scope development, RFIs, and submittals.
- Oversee punch lists, start‑up, and commissioning.
- Partner with field and office teams to resolve issues and drive progress.
- Monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow.
- Review and approve subcontractor and owner pay applications.
- Manage change orders (owner and subcontractor).
Client & Team Relationships:
- Serve as the main point of contact for owners and representatives.
- Lead weekly on‑site and communicate project updates.
- Build long‑term client and subcontractor relationships.
- Mentor Assistant PMs and Project Engineers.
Operational Excellence:
- Champion safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
- Ensure compliance with contracts, permits, codes, and insurance requirements.
- Identify risks early and provide proactive solutions.
- Maintain thorough documentation in project management systems.
