Job Overview

Full‑time Construction Manager located in the Houston area. Responsibilities include reviewing third‑party submittals, documenting construction activities for compliance with railroad guidelines, managing day‑to‑day correspondence with railroad clients, and ensuring contractors meet safety and quality requirements. This role requires extensive travel (90‑100% of the time) across multiple states and may involve weekend work.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with internal and external railroad stakeholders to ensure effective communication.
  • Review and interpret third‑party plan submittals and observe construction activities for compliance.
  • Manage correspondence with railroad clients and contractors on the field.
  • Initiate actions to keep third‑party contractors aligned with railroad safety and quality requirements.
  • Anticipate and mitigate coordination challenges between railroads and contractors.
Qualifications
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • 5+ years as a railroad FRA 213 qualified individual.
  • Proficiency in GCOR (General Code of Operating Rules).
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel extensively.
  • Bachelor’s or Associate degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.
