Plumbing Estimator – Houston, TX (Onsite)

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Plumbing Estimator to join our commercial plumbing estimating team. This is an onsite role in Houston.

The right candidate will either lead full-cycle plumbing estimating or focus primarily on takeoffs — based on experience. What You’ll Do Review drawings, specifications, and project plans to understand requirements for plumbing systems. Perform detailed plumbing takeoffs using on-screen takeoff (OST) software (e.g., Trimble Autobid, FastEST/FastPIPE, EstMEP, or similar). Prepare accurate estimates for commercial plumbing scopes including materials, labor, and compliance with plumbing codes and standards.

Develop competitive proposals and cost models for bid submissions. Work across a variety of commercial project types — including ground-up construction, education facilities, mixed-use developments, and occasionally healthcare, industrial, or renovation projects. Depending on background and capabilities:
Either own the full estimating process — from takeoff through bid submission — with minimal oversight; or Focus on takeoffs and support senior estimators, with potential to grow into a full-cycle estimator role. Collaborate with project and leadership teams to ensure bids are accurate, comprehensive, and delivered on time. Ideal Project Types Ground-up commercial construction Educational facilities Mixed-use developments Occasional: healthcare, industrial, and tenant-improvement / renovation work What You Need to Bring Commercial plumbing estimating experience, or demonstrated proficiency in plumbing takeoffs Solid knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, and relevant building/plumbing codes Proficiency with OST-style estimating software (Trimble Autobid, FastEST/FastPIPE, EstMEP or comparable platforms) is required — must be ready to start producing takeoffs independently Strong analytical skills and attention to detail;
