Position Overview: The Senior Estimator is responsible for gathering details and compiling data to estimate all production costs according to bid documents.

Location: Weeks Construction Houston, TX office.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze plans and specifications
  • Perform site visit(s) and meet with owners and designers if required
  • Prepare take-offs
  • Prepare budgetary estimates
  • Establish means and methods of construction and perform engineering analyses to support construction projects
  • Prepare costs analysis for certain or all portions of the projects
  • Solicit quotes from subcontractors and vendors
  • Prepare construction schedule and perform cash-flow analyses
  • Close out bids and assist in preparation of supporting documentation
  • From time to time, visit projects and prepare cost analyses

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in Heavy Civil Marine Construction with at least 3 years in estimating preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Technology/Management required
  • Proficient skills in standard computer software packages
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Fluent use of the verbal and written English language

  • Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment
  • Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies
  • Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required
  • May work at various different locations and conditions may vary
