Construction Estimator

A well-established Commercial General Contractor in Houston is looking to add an Estimator to their preconstruction team. This contractor specializes in ground-up commercial construction across K-12, Higher Education, Religious, and Medical sectors and has a strong, long‑term pipeline of work.

This role requires an Estimator who is comfortable handling projects from conceptual estimating through hard bid, and who can also run projects through buyout once awarded.

• Prepare conceptual, schematic, and hard‑bid estimates for ground‑up commercial projects
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and project requirements
• Solicit, level, and evaluate subcontractor bids
• Work closely with operations teams to transition projects from preconstruction to construction
• Handle buyout and scope reviews to ensure accurate project handoff
• Assist with value engineering and cost‑saving strategies

• Proven experience as an Estimator for a Commercial General Contractor
• Experience estimating ground‑up commercial projects (K-12, education, religious, or medical preferred)
• Ability to manage projects from concept through bid and buyout
• Strong understanding of construction means and methods
• Stable work history with good tenure – this client values long‑term commitment
• Houston‑based or willing to work locally
